Features

Sloped measuring and compensation is a feature which nowadays is very much essential in golf rangefinders, which the Bushnell Tour V4 Shift is equipped with.

With this feature, the rangefinder gives you a more accurate distance reading as it takes off the angle from you to the target point, making the right angle adjustments based on the height of the terrain. Uphill and downhill locations are read and treated differently by the Bushnell Tour V4 than standard flat terrain, letting you make better adjustments as you strike the ball with your club.

During tournament play where slope adjustment measurements are not allowed, the Bushnell Tour V4’s Slope Switch feature lets you turn it off immediately so as to comply with tournament rules. This is done simply by flicking the logo switch at the side.

During practice play, this is also very helpful as it teaches you the difference and feel of sloped measuring versus normal measuring, thus teaching how to adjust in the right manner come tournament time. With this, the Bushnell Tour V4 seemingly becomes a virtual golf pro.

Bushnell Tour V4 Shift Golf Laser Rangefinder - specifications

The Bushnell Tour V4 Shift is quite at par with some of the best quality laser rangefinders in the market today. Its distance measuring ability was not only improved from its predecessor, the Tour V3 rangefinder, distance reading was also made faster and easier.

Fast Focus system lets you look and select the field and zero in on one particular object. The Bushnell Tour V4’s laser locks on quickly and with much ease, immediately showing you the distance on the LCD display.

The Bushnell Tour V4 Shift is housed in a solid carrying case, safely protected the sensitive portions from moisture and other impurities that might damage the sensitive electronics. The silicon protection on the exterior also gives it much needed durability in case of shocks and bumps, like when you might accidentally drop it from your hand.

This golf rangefinder was designed to be taken in and out easily thanks to a very light overall weight. The Stable-Grip Technology feature lets you hold it firmly with one hand, while the one-button control lets you operate most of the features easily. With is very compact and portable size, it fits easily into the accessory pockets of most golf bags.

A couple of things stood out with the Bushnell Tour V4 Shift rangefinder which earned the praise of users and critics. The size and weight made it very handy to bring anytime and anywhere for a good round of golf. Light to carry and hold, you can take out the Bushnell Tour V4 Shift anytime to check and measure distance without feeling any encumbrance or cumbersomeness.

The Bushnell Tour V4 Shift rangefinder has shown to be able to lock on to any target on the field quickly. This allows you to focus quickly on important points and objects on the golf course, particularly the flagpole on the green which is pretty much the goal being targeted by any golfer. This is made much easier with Jolt technology, which prompts you when the target is in sight with a friendly vibration.

The sloped measuring capability of the Tour V4 Shift will orient and teach you how to properly estimate distances while compensating for the elevated terrain. Once you engage in tournament play, you will no longer have that much of a problem as by then this rangefinder has gotten you accustomed to estimating distances that involve elevated terrain.

However, some noticed the poorly designed battery door that may allow harmful particles to make their way into the sensitive electronics of the rangefinder. Sometimes, the Jolt feature of the V4 Shift also seemed to be inconsistent. At distances starting around 150 yards, the Jolt feature sometimes would not activate even if you focused the rangefinder on the pin.

    • Hi Aliya John, the Bushnell Tour V4 is indeed designed for golfing. I guess you can use it for hunting as well but maybe there are better special rangefinders for hunting on the market. However, I don’t know anything about hunting so probably better to google for a hunting website 🙂 Good luck!
